Game of Scones has been a dream for many years which has finally turned to a reality.

I am the sole owner of this venture and have had a passion for food from a very young age. This passion was molded by attending Carshalton Catering College. Whilst there I was responsible for hosting many different events including an Alice in Wonderland set dinner where the items were not as they appeared…

Since completing college, I have worked at many award winning venues across the South of England, including Heston Blumenthal’s the Fat Duck and the prestigious RAC club in Epsom. It was at these venues that the love and ultimate specialisation in the field of sweets took hold.

From here, I gained my first Head Pastry chef position at the age of 21, working on the outskirts of Brighton in the beautiful manor house and events venue – Stanmer House. This venue gave me the opportunity to hone my skills in Cream Teas & Afternoon Teas, as we would easily sell in excess of 200 on any given Sunday at the height of summer. Due to popular demand, we also introduced a range of daily cakes, to purchase by the slice with a coffee; and hot treats such as homemade sausage rolls, scotch eggs and bacon turnovers. I spent a wonderful few years at this venue, made a number of lifelong friends and also met the future Mrs.

Moving on from Stanmer, my next role was a Head Pastry chef at the Felbridge Hotel and Spa based in East Grinstead. This hotel featured a 3 Rosette restaurant, allowing me to become more inventive with ingredients, flavours and presentation. It was here the dream of owning my own business really grew.

After another few years at Felbridge, I took a step away from the chefing side and into the food importer supplier boots. The last 4 years I have been an area sales manager for a fine food company – this has provided me opportunities of travelling abroad, France mostly. I was able to spend an amazing few days learning the art of French Patisserie with some of the best. Working in my current position has given me the confidence to start out my own enterprise, the feeling of being able to bake and create full time again is indescribable.

Right enough about me… Bring on the Cake!
